She sits at her desk a feeling of doom engulfs her
The air thick and dark she's unable to fill her lungs
She's being pulled from safety into terror
Long gnarled fingers dig into her skin leaving scars
Like the scars on her heart and her broken body
She remembers that night, the horror of her father
The veins popping from his neck and forehead
As he feverishly tries to take her life
Hands around her throat, the look in his eyes
Hate, disgust, fear, yes fear that she would tell
Tell the world of his abuse in the name of love.
Her mind screams to think forgiveness,
Find the light and crawl out of this mirage of hell
Her mind searches for the beauty to kill the monsters
But she finds none, here revenge is king
She has succumbed to being it's queen
It seems like forever till the air clears
Things came back into focus and she fills her lungs once more
The office sounds return as if nothing happened
But it will return, come back and pull her under
She never knows when they will come for her once more
She'll revisit that night again and again in horror
